The steel end-capped counter top was a very different and challenging project.
The client had a beautiful slab of walnut and wanted to cap the ends with steel. I thought how cool, this is a great challenge that I have not attempted.
Sculpting, shaping and coming up with attachment points that no one would see was a little challenging. All the attaching hardware was hidden under the slab.
The end results were great, I ended up protecting the ends of the slab and enhancing the beauty of the walnut slab.
The colors were hand applied patina stains to match the natural beauty of the wood. A clear powder coat finish was baked on to seal and protect.
