“Spirit Rider,” by Keith Peschel is a monument dedicated to and inspired by the life of Davis cycling legend Steve Larsen.
As you walk through the arch, imagine yourself starting a new journey. In this place, every race is worth entering and every goal is worth pursuing.
The sculpture’s centerpiece, two bicycles in motion, embody Steve’s versatility and success in his sport. The bikes are graceful and fast, and are forever climbing higher.
The steel structure, the energetic and fluid lines of the bikes, the sculpted sprocket and spokes are also symbolic of this great cyclist.
Spirit Rider” represents the strength, integrity, energy, passion, commitment determination and success of those who believe in themselves and never give up.
