Keith Peschel founded Rock and Iron Design back in 1999 while the rest of the world was preparing for the next millennium. Self-taught with absolutely no formal art or design training, Keith’s instinctive talent has earned him the admiration from peers and clients everywhere. His distinguished sculpture was inspired by an experience in his own life while he was fly fishing with a a friend in Northern California and he observed roots growing around the natural river rock in a beautiful mountain stream. That single encounter heartened Keith to conceive of his signature “river rock with roots” design, and using rolled steel as the root foundation of almost every design thereafter.
Keith began to transport many river rocks over his shoulder and into his studio in an effort to preserve and reproduce his vision of “river and rock design”. Keith continued to master proficiency in manipulating steel while he was serving clients and displaying his talent in local art shows. The refinement of his craft was always organic from the very beginning, but what really allowed Keith to grow as an artist was combining his style with his client’s vision and designing each piece with the elation and emotional passion those clients brought to the project.
Over the last decade Keith has been refining the conception of his “wine series” of sculptured art, both operative and free standing. From the extravagant “wine gate” to the more native pieces like wine openers, wine racks and wine cellar doors. If your looking for a remarkable, original piece of art for your home or business, Rock and Iron Design will design you something built for generations.
